The 2014 Copenhagen Fashion Summit was a gentle revelation for me, a wake up call about the myriad sustainability challenges facing our industry. But even more importantly, and inspiringly, the summit was also about the myriad innovations and solutions.
The Copenhagen Fashion Summit is a great opportunity to push the fashion agenda forward. The Copenhagen Fashion Summit feels a bit like a mini “Davos” for the fashion world. I look forward to seeing what will happen during the next one!
While I loved being a speaker at the Copenhagen Fashion Summit 2014, I was even more excited to be a listener; I came away from the event with a real sense of information gathered, substantive questions raised, and conversation begun.
The Summit has been an unique occasion for the Fashion World to focus on the “Sustainability”. Bottega Veneta has strengthened its aim to be a Leader of this business trend that carefully adheres to the concept of social and environmental responsibility.
As our favorite conference the Copenhagen Fashion Summit grows both in global importance and in size with an increasing number of participants each time, so does our involvement in the conference and collaboration with just the best Danish Fashion Institute team.
The Copenhagen Fashion Summit is of unique importance; it facilitates the inspiring and courageous dialogue that our creative community desires most; how do we celebrate and deliver more beauty to the world?
The first Copenhagen Fashion Summit was held in 2009 in conjunction with the UN Climate Change Conference, COP15. The event drew massive attention and had keynote speakers from companies such as PPR Group, H&M, Barney’s, Financial Times, Edun, Better Work, the United Nations, politicians, celebrities and many more.
The second summit was held in May 2012, gathering more than 1,200 industry leaders, decision makers, NGOs and politicians from 27 countries around the world. As a summit media partner, CNN broadcasted 12 minutes from the event. Keynotes included Gucci, the United Nations, PPR, WGSN, Greenpeace, Patagonia, Sustainable Apparel Coalition, BSR, ministers, celebrities and many more.
The third summit will be held on April 24 2014. Once again in the beautiful surroundings of the Copenhagen Opera House.Read more
